10 Year Anniversary Run

A wave of nostalgia has hit the Flame. A team of original guild members dusted off their armor and headed to Plane of Fear last night. A zone which once struck fear...or at least indigestion in the bellies of Flamers fell to our singing short swords and ranger arrows. Thanks to Rumardian for 'getting the band back together' and for the gifts of gear. Thanks to team Portland (Aeawen, Jorree, Kron, Altir) & team midwest (Kiroc & Beam) for the witty banter and jolly good time.

Rest In Peace

Keith Parkinson, the man behind much of the artwork that infuses EQ1 with a beauty that draws you in and allows you to immerse yourself in Norrath has passed away. He leaves behind a wife and son and an amazing trail of artwork from book covers, to paintings, box covers, to art direction.

The Flame dims in honor of a great one passing.

State of the Flame

In response to declining server and guild populations, the officers & council of Destiny's Flame have decided to suspend the "Sunday Night Run" and slow down organized in-guild and alliance raiding.

We've opened up the doors for members who'd like to pursue active raiding guilds. We have suspended the "no alts" rule as we move toward becoming a guild bound by sentimental ties.

Rumardian has accepted a re-promotion to Officer of the Flame (woot!)

I will preserve the guild name so that whoever wants to wear the tag into the sunset can rest sound knowing they won't log in one day to find themselves tagless =)

Kamotracker and I will continue to maintain the website and I'm looking forward to seeing our guild tag pop up in future games. I am hopeful the boards will be hopping as this year's round of new games make their way down the pipeline =)

May honor, unity, loyalty, and strength continue to guide you all no matter where you end up =)

It's the end of the world as we know it...

Our beloved server is being merged into Fennin Ro and as I look back at 5 years of the Flame on Torv I'm taken back to our early days....when we chased skellies and orcs around Faydark with our Rusty Short Swords!

We've come full circle on Torv, having seen it's beginning and it's end. It seemed only fitting to hand out some Rusty Short Swords at the close of our last Sunday Night Run on Torv. I hope they'll remind you of how far you've come and of how great the possiblity and adventure that lies in 'new' things.

As we prepare to migrate into a new server I hope you will carry with you the spirit that has kept the Flame burning lo these many years.

DF 1 End of Year Update

The end of the year offers us a chance to sit back and recall the good times of '04...

...new members Spazem and Dakmate joined our ranks and survived Kiyallmane's raiding boot camp- PUNT!...

...new raiding targets were found by Kiyallmane & Kraxus and conquered by the noble ranks of the Flame...

...new EQ1 expansions launched and were promptly spattered with DF corpses...

...Aminna 20k'd Maugua and Sslu "ahhahahaha I didn't mean to really!"...

...Kraxus took back the Bardic Gold Medal at the final picnic of the year...Gillegen's pet was disqualified for illegal use of steroids...

...Nymlar continued to be Sony's most underappreciated player...

...Kuviani finally dinged 65 - go rabbit!...

...Gant ported the guild to so many raids he became an honorary member of the National Pilot's Union...

...Amblance grew into quite a fine cleric...with a heart of a monk =)...

...Chetora quietly dinged 65 and has been seen stalking waskilly wabbit in PoP...

...Sheila racked up the DF raiding attendance points -she's quite the raiding shammie!...

...Maugua continued to play meat shield while lvling up quite a little shammy on the side...

...Serianna returned to the fold and Tunny headed off to car college =)...

...Chestii donated some beard hair to the Thurgadin Hair Club for men and was our first guild cleric to attain Conviction...

...EQII launched and Kamotracker & Auronan steered the Good Ship Lollypop...I mean Flame over to the Blackburrow server to make it's mark there (i.e. leave lots of corpses in as many zones as possible)...

...Krondar created Toxie v2.0 in eqII where he is tearing up Antonica...

...Afish & Jorree returned from DAOC to join DF2 where they are feared by gnolls far and wide...

...Wareldara clicked off illusion big white bear and cast illusion bard and has been seen running around eq2's hills with friends Laanyan & Sileldar in tow...

...Comus got a new job but somehow continues to find time to dominate the enchanter class =)...

...Winsley's great Grimfeather camp of '03 experience continued to serve him well in both eq1 &2 this year...

...The Flame joined Faceless Vengeance in a raiding alliance where merriment and planer progression abound!...

...Sslu, Laala & Tegan, Taiel & Blacktorn boarded their sow horses and rode all the way to NYC for an LDON type adventure with Comus & Aminna - good times - pass the ale!!...

...Taiel got engaged (we're not sure how much he paid for her in the Bazaar but rumor has it well over 1m plat)-gratz big guy!...
